With hundreds of beads individually threaded by hand, this set constitutes many hours of work.
The set comprises a multi-strand necklace and matching wrap bracelet.
Please note: the ‘model’ in the photograph has an unrealistically tiny wrist!
The bracelet is constructed using a single strand of strong wire, twisted into a spiral and threaded with hundreds of individual beads.
The necklace has multiple individual strands of individually strung beads, all connected securely in a chunky easy-fasten clasp.
There are two types of beads in each piece:
Opaque purple accent beads
‘Oily’ darker background beads
This set was handmade in the Kibera slum of Nairobi.
It was produced by a group of women supporting the work of Chaffinch and Future Stars. Some have children who attend the free primary school, and this is their way of contributing to their children’s education.
The set is packaged mounted on black felted card with a header card indicating its origin, and packed in a box designed to fit through a regular UK letterbox.
Wrist Size: 8.5″ (although could be recoiled to fit a larger wrist)
Necklace Length: 25″
Bracelet Fastening: None
Necklace Fastening: Simple hook and loop.
