We have taken delivery of a set of bunk beds for the girls. They are very excited to sleep in these beds tonight!
The bunk beds were built by a carpenter living in Kibera, providing employment for another person struggling to survive and support his family. This is an important way in which Chaffinch can have an impact on the wider community within Kibera, whilst fulfilling the needs of the children of Future Stars.
A local church has also donated a set of bunk beds for the boys. There are now almost enough beds for everyone, with the younger children sleeping two to a bed.
All of the children are looking forward to having a bit more space to sleep and not ending up on the floor in the middle of the night. A good night’s sleep will also enable the children to concentrate better in school and will hopefully have an impact on their learning, allowing them to achieve their potential.
